How does this medicine work

Cytarabine is a clear liquid that is injected into a vein, muscle, or under the skin. It works as follows:-

Cytarabine is a synthetic medication that interferes with DNA synthesis in cells, preventing them from dividing and multiplying. It's converted into an active form inside cells, which competes with a natural substance necessary for DNA production. This disruption of DNA synthesis leads to cell death. Cytarabine mainly affects cells in the S-phase of their cycle and can also block progression from the G1-phase. Additionally, it has antiviral and immunosuppressive properties.
