How does this medicine work
Chlorambucil is a tablet that you take by mouth. It works as follows:-
Chlorambucil is a medication derived from nitrogen mustard and works by disrupting the cell cycle without specifically targeting any particular phase. It acts as a powerful alkylating agent, meaning it attaches alkyl groups to cellular components. This process forms a highly reactive compound that likely leads to cross-linking between DNA strands, disrupting the synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. Additionally, chlorambucil has immunosuppressive properties, mainly by suppressing the activity of lymphocytes.
