How does this medicine work

Carmustine is a clear liquid that is injected into a vein and it is also available in the form of wafer which is placed in the brain during surgery. It works as follows:-

Carmustine is a potent compound that easily dissolves in fats. It works as a dual-action alkylating agent, affecting both DNA and RNA by attaching alkyl groups to them. This process can lead to DNA cross-linking and the inhibition of certain enzymes through carbamoylation. Carmustine doesn't specifically target cells in a particular phase of the cell cycle. Unlike some similar agents, it typically doesn't share resistance with other alkylating agents, although there have been instances of cross-resistance between carmustine and lomustine.
