How does this medicine work

Carfilzomib is a clear liquid that is injected into a vein.It works as follows:-

Carfilzomib is a medication that blocks a key enzyme called the proteasome, responsible for breaking down cellular proteins. By inhibiting this enzyme, carfilzomib triggers the accumulation of proteins tagged for destruction, leading to cell cycle arrest and ultimately, cell death. Unlike some other inhibitors, carfilzomib's effects are long-lasting because it irreversibly binds to the proteasome. This drug also shows promise in causing fewer side effects like peripheral neuropathy compared to similar medications. It mainly works by halting the cell cycle at the G2-M phase.
