How does this medicine work
Brentuximab vedotinis a clear liquid that is injected into a vein. It works as follows:-
Brentuximab vedotin is a special type of medication made up of two parts: a monoclonal antibody and an anti-cancer drug. The antibody attaches to specific cells in the body that have a protein called CD-30 on their surface. Once attached, the medication releases the anti-cancer drug, which goes inside the cell and binds to a protein called tubulin. This binding disrupts the cell's internal structure, leading to a stop in cell division and ultimately causing the cancer cell to die. Brentuximab vedotin works best on cells that are in a specific phase of the cell cycle called G2/M phase.
