How does this medicine work

Bicalutamide is a tablet that you take by mouth. It works as follows:-

Bicalutamide is a type of medication that blocks the effects of male hormones (androgens) in the body. It's used to treat prostate cancer, which is known to grow in response to androgens. Bicalutamide works by attaching to specific receptors for androgens in the body, preventing them from activating. This helps slow down the growth of cancer cells. It's important to note that bicalutamide doesn't stop the production of androgens in the body and may actually increase their levels in the blood.
