How does this medicine work

Afatinib is a tablet that you take by mouth and it works as follows:-

Afatinib is a type of medication called a second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitor. It targets proteins in cells called EGFR, HER2, and HER4, which play a role in cancer growth. By blocking these proteins, afatinib helps slow down or stop the growth of tumors. It's effective against tumors that have certain genetic changes in EGFR or HER2, and it can also help delay resistance to other medications that target EGFR. Overall, afatinib works by disrupting the signals that cancer cells need to grow and spread.
